The 2019 Stromberg GG is precise and pure on the stony nose that reveals darker-toned flinty as well as orange and lemon rind aromas. On the palate, this is a bright, rich and juicy, very intense and sustainable yet elegant, coolish and finessed Riesling from dark porphyry soils. It's one of the top Rieslings of the vintage in the Nahe region, if not in all of Germany. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

Green-fruit flavours on the nose. Then concentrated fruit on the palate with some astringency. Very juicy and friendly but still pretty youthful. Long, vibrato.
Nahe is located to the south east of the Mosel. Its climate unexpectedly evokes the Mediterranean, and its slate soils are comparable to the Mosel with the addition of clay, though not as steep. The combination of these two elements seems to give the best of both worlds - the focus and minerality of the Mosel as well as the fleshy fruit of Germany's warmer regions.
