  • IN BOND prices exclude UK Duty and VAT. Wines can be purchased In Bond for storage in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse, or for export to non-EU countries. Duty and VAT must be paid before delivery can take place.

  • RETAIL prices include UK Duty and VAT. Wines for UK delivery can only be purchased this way.

  • Duty Paid wines have been removed from Bond and cannot subsequently be returned to Bond.  VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. These wines must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • En Primeur wines can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.

    Another fine example of Pierre-Emmanuel’s skill in blending 2 different climats within the appellation, Les Casse-Têtes up in the hills and Murger de Monthélie close to Volnay. A very expressive style, with sensations of warm toffee and fresh fudge. Initially the palate starts with silkiness and grace, but as the layers of complexity develop, you feel the vigour, vibrance and great depth in this wine. So much class, this is a total joy.

    A more floral-suffused nose features very bright and fresh aromas of Granny Smith apples, essence of pear and a variety of citrus influences. There is again excellent volume and richness along with even more apparent minerality on the complex and beautifully persistent finale that flashes focused power. This too offers first-rate quality for a villages-level wine. Outstanding. Top value. Drink: 2027+

    The most backward and the most impressive of the Fichet Meursaults, this is a stunning wine with incredibly restraint and control. The palate is refined and marked with sweet n sour fruit and acid notes, and these roll on for minutes. Not a big style nor is the oak in any way evident here, this is a beautifully balanced wine with lashings of class and beauty. It is worth noting that this style will not appeal to those seeking big-boned, old-style Meursaults.

    Bottled late November. Fine pale primrose. The bouquet is notably more backward. I am waiting a moment and then the sense of volume emerges. Significant volume here, a thick but not lush texture, enormous energy, this will need a couple more years in bottle than any of the others.

She makes wonderfully textbook wines, which for us are the most perfect reflection of the wines of Meursault. Meursault

Meursault is the first great white wine area that one stumbles upon on leaving Beaune. Unlike other white dominated appellations in Burgundy, Meursault has no grand cru vineyards. It nonetheless has significant flair and power which make up for this deficiency. Indeed, if tasted blind some of these wines could even surpass other Burgundian grand crus. They are no fainting daisies. This may partially be due to Meursault's lower water table which enables the roots to delve deep in the soil picking up many trace minerals and which further stresses the vines. In addition, the cellars are more profound and cooler, enabling long fermentations, which increase complexity and longevity. Some interesting red wines are also made.
