James Suckling, August 2024, Score: 95
The brightness and purity of fruit is so beautiful here, showing flowers and currants. Very aromatic. Lots of finesse and focus on the medium-bodied palate with super-fine tannins and a lovely finish. Lively. 65% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc. Why wait on this?

Goedhuis Waddesdon, September 2024
Made with the same meticulous attention to details as its celebrated compatriot, the 2022 Le Serre Nuove is a time-tested triumvirate of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. The nose is reflective of the wine’s mediterranean origins, where a backdrop of sour cherry and wild blackberry fruit is daubed with accents of lavender, bay leaf, and mint, while on the palate, there are touches of cacao nibs and subtle cinnamon spice alongside more dark fruited flavours. Though the wine possess power, with impressive structure and tannic grip, there remains Serre Nuove’s hallmark freshness and precision, which means that it will only need another year in bottle before drinking. Drink 2025-2042.
Region
Tuscany
Arguably the most celebrated of all Italian regions for its sun, delicious food and rich wines. Chianti lies at the heart of this centrally located, picturesque and expansive area. Tuscany is also home to Chianti's more powerful cousin, Brunello di Montalcino, illustrious Super Tuscanblends and spicy, exuberant whites.
