    Geantet Pansiot’s flagship cuvée, the family have a generous 0.45 hectares of this great Grand Cru. A true Charmes Chambertin in every sense, this is an intensely aromatic wine, where the fruit is rocked back and forth by notes of cloves, rosemary, and a subtle hint of orange peel. The palate is beautifully textured, with silken tannins that encourage the black fruit and sour cherry notes to speak up on the finish. Simply superb.

Charmes Chambertin

Charmes-Chambertin is one of the nine Grand Crus vineyards within the Gevrey Chambertin area. On gentle slopes, sheltered from the elements by woods to the north, gravelly soil forces the vines to work hard. Relatively large for a Grand Cru appellation, it is hard to generalise about the wines. Often intensely perfumed and seductive, Charmes-Chambertin can be approachable earlier than its Grand Crus neighbours.
