    Under consideration as a Premier Cru, the Longeroies vineyard sits at the north of the Marsannay commune and is split in two, with the upper part sited on limestone slabs and the lower composed of reddish marl. With ripe Morello cherry and grenadine notes on the nose, generous fruit in the mid palate and plush, supple tannins, this cuvée shows more influence from the heavier marls of the lower Longeroies. A velvety expression of Pinot with immediate charm, a hint of savoury heather and gentle, blood orange acidity bring additional layers of interest to the finish.

The most northerly appellation of the Cote d'Or, Marsannay is also the only appellation authorised to produce red, white and rose wine. Only created in 1987, this is an interesting area where quality is improving. Top producers include Bruno Clair, Meo-Camuzet and Denis Mortet.
