  • Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025

The combination of deep, dark red soils and the south facing slopes always makes for a more powerful style of Grand Cru from this famous hill side. Morello cherry and blueberry on the nose. There is a lovely sweet edge to this wine, rich in its texture, with an attitude of tannic depth and a moreish finish of mocha and mixed spices.

  • Neal Martin, January 2026, Score: 92-94

The 2024 Corton Grand Cru, which comes from the lieu-dit of Les Combes, has a perfumed nose, more floral and showing a little more complexity than the previous vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. Precise and quite focused, it offers a lovely, quite sensual finish with cranberry and wild strawberry notes that linger in the mouth and a residual black pepper note on the aftertaste. Applause is deserved in the context of the growing season. Drink 2027-2042

The wines of Tollot-Beaut are some of the best we taste every vintage. Uncomplicated, pure and fresh, they epitomize everything that we love about wines from the Côte de Beaune. The wines of Tollot-Beaut are some of the best we taste every vintage. Uncomplicated, pure and fresh, they epitomize everything that we love about wines from the Côte de Beaune. In addition, their fleshiness and approachability makes them perfect for cynics who claim that Burgundy is not their cup of tea. The 22-hectare domaine has been family-owned for years. Today, the young, friendly and exceptionally bright Nathalie Tollot manages the domaine with her cousins. The wines are vinified fairly traditionally. About 40% of the crop is de-stemmed, though this varies depending on vintage. The wines are fermented in open-top wooden vats before being aged in oak barrels that are 10-50% new. Very lightly fined and filtered before bottling, the resulting wines are often opulent with noticeable density, always clean and superbly pure. Just wonderful Burgundy.Read less

Region

Corton

The Grands Crus of Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay are shared between Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix Serrigny and Pernand Vergelesses. The vines for both are planted on the hillsides underneath the plateau of Corton's woodland forest. The majorityof Pinot Noir is planted in the southern and eastern sector where the soil is naturally rich with red iron clay giving additional body and power. Overall, the wines from these areas tend to be fruit forward and fleshy with a balance of round edges and fine concentration.
