  • Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025

From 40-year-old vines, this a fresh, bright zesty Puligny, which comes from seven different lieux dits starting on the Meursault side, some in the middle of the village and the final plot close to Chassagne so a very complete example of the commune. A charming mandarin-scented nose. Honeyed and poised, with a glossy clarity. Refreshing and persistent. The perfect expression of village Puligny Montrachet.

  • Burghound, April 2026, Score: 90-92

(from 11 different parcels in 7 lieux-dits scattered about Puligny with an overall average vine age of approximately 40+ years) A discreet touch of reduction quickly lifts to reveal cool citrus, white flowers and a limpid, almost crystalline freshness. The palate impression of the middle weight flavors is notably pure while displaying a subtle minerality on the impressively long, chiseled and balanced finale. This quietly elegant effort is already appealing, though it should easily reward a few years of patience. Excellent quality here for its level and very much worth your interest. Drink 2030+

  • JMO, October 2025, Score: 89-91

As is usual, the village Puligny has not yet been fully assembled, so we tasted its component parts, now in their various tanks. The first tank is quite exotically perfumed, lime blossom too, fresh and with good acidity, with a softer charm to the fruit behind. The second shows a lime tint to the colour, less exotic fruit, fresh apples, a little more density. The third tank hasn’t fallen clear yet, so crisply reductive, before a pure orchard fruit behind. A little more substance overall. Good length here. The fourth also not quite clear., showing the most weight to the nose, and indeed body on the palate. Overall, this should be an attractive and even reasonably substantial Puligny, which will be accessible quite early. Drink from 2027-2030.

Region

Puligny Montrachet

Puligny Montrachet is known as the most delicate of the white wine appellations south of Beaune. Its wines tend to be linear and mineral offering delicate floral and orchard fruit aromatics. Its village and premier cru vineyard area total slightly over 200 hectares but almost half of them are premier cru making them one of the highest proportions of quality vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. Several grand cru vineyards are present, the most notable being Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachetwhich it shares with neighbouring Chassagne, but it does have the extraordinary Chevalier Montrachet and the tiny Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet all to itself. There are a handful of red wines grown, but they tend to be quite light and need to be drunk in their youth.
