  • Goedhuis Waddesdon, April 2026, Score: 93-94

From the Côte de Castillon – on the eastern end of the same limestone plateau that Beausejour is on in the west. Sweet approachable red fruit, plummy without being overripe, with soft macerated strawberries and raspberries too. A core of limestone minerality lends a sense of freshness and helps the wine feel very comfortable in its own skin already. Fabulous balance and wonderful tension make this incredibly moreish and appetising. A fantastic showing of all the Becot wines in this vintage.

  • Antonio Galloni, April 2026, Score: 92-94

The 2025 Joanin-Bécot is fabulous. Dark and sumptuous, with gorgeous fruit purity, the 2025 is positively stellar. I don’t think I have tasted a Joanin-Bécot with this much intensity and sheer textural presence. Inky dark red/purplish fruit, spice, new leather, dried flowers and lavender open first, followed by a range of floral and savory Cabernet Franc overtones. Clay-rich soils lend notable breadth and presence. The resonant, expansive finish is stunning. Drink 2028-2040.

Château Beauséjour Bécot

Like certain Left Bank estates, Ch Beau Séjour Bécot was once part of a larger estate that had been separated into two (the other being Beauséjour Duffau Lagarosse). Located west of the village of St Emilion, it lies next to other sought after properties such as Canon and Angélus.
