Region

Speyside

Lying between Inverness and Aberdeen in the Grampian mountains, Speyside has long been at the heart of whisky distilling in Scotland, and over 50 distilleries are still in operation today. Loosely speaking, Speyside malts are the sweetest and the region can be split into two categories. On the one hand, you have the ‘lunchtime whiskies’, which are lighter in style, and can often be floral, or even grassy. While on the other hand, Speyside is also home to a richer, sweeter style of whisky, with more sherried qualities.
