We are looking forward to the unexpectedly delicious 2008 Burgundies to be released at the start of January, a potentially outstanding 2009 vintage from Bordeaux after Easter and the highly anticipated Rhone 2009s towards the end of the year. As always there will be plenty of exciting small offers interspersed with these major campaigns.
Nicolas Thienpont and his son Cyrille are joining us for a dinner and tasting of Pavie Macquin, Larcis Ducasse and Puygueraud at the end of January. We are in the throes of organising our largest ever Burgundy tasting on the 3rd of March at the Saatchi Gallery – trying to pin down around thirty growers to come over and present their wines to give a real insight into this fascinating but complicated region – and we have a rose tasting in the pipeline for June.
2009 has seen Mandy and Harry join the team. Congratulations to Mark for his September wedding and to Claire for her November engagement. There have been significant birthdays for the Chairman, Robin, Jamie and me. James is getting used to fatherhood (definitely fewer nights out for him) while Peter passed his motorbike test and has put in the miles on his Triumph Street Triple. Gilles made the break and moved from East to West London, Justin moved house still in Sussex and Julian is threatening to swap High Street Kensington for the Cotswolds. Melissa has been round the world and come back safely (just…) while Tom is settled in Hong Kong, flying the flag for Goedhuis in the hugely significant Asian markets.
All our very best wishes for Christmas and the coming New Year from the Goedhuis team.
