Viñedo Chadwick is quite simply a Chilean icon; its heritage goes back centuries and its quality is hard to dispute. This newly released 2015 vintage has been heralded as one of the best.
“Very deep and primary fruit character in this red gives the wine amazing length and focus. It seems to go on forever.” 99 points James Suckling
“This is the most elegant and refined vintage I have seen of this wine… Super elegant.” Wine Advocate. 95 points Luis Gutierrez
Situated in Puente Alto at the foot of the Andes Mountains near the Maipo River. The property consists of 25 hectares in a region whose terroirs are famed for their exceptional Bordeaux red varieties.
Chile’s wines had lagged behind in terms of international recognition until recently, but now their calibre is being widely recognised across the fine wine trade as world class.
Chile’s Viñedo Chadwick hit the headlines in 2004. Owner Eduardo Chadwick decided it was time to show the wine to a wider audience. Hosted by Steven Spurrier, 40 European wine writers and MWs gathered together and the famous Berlin Tasting was born. 16 wines from the 2000 and 2001 vintages were shown: Bordeaux First and Second growths and a number of Super-Tuscans were pitched against Chilean icons in a blind setting. The results astounded everyone. I’ve highlighted the top 4 from the 2004 Berlin Tasting:
1-Viñedo Chadwick 2000 (Chile)
2- Seña 2001 (Chile)
3- Château Lafite-Rothschild 2000 (Bordeaux)
4- Château Margaux 2001 (Bordeaux)
A number of these tastings have been held since, the most recent in Santiago in 2013, Viñedo Chadwick has proudly found itself in the top ten in every such global tasting (please click here for the world tasting results 2004-2013).
We are therefore very excited to offer you their most elegant and refined offering to date.

The 2015 was an incredibly successful vintage, blessed with a perfect growing season, resulting in a wine with optimal ripeness while preserving freshness, exceptional intensity, depth and elegance. A true expression of the extreme beauty of their exceptional terroir.
This is the most elegant and refined vintage I have seen of this wine. With ultra-refined tannin, the wine is dry, very clean, not minty at all, with very good tension and length, with a chalky, tasty, almost salty finish. Of course, the classical notes of cedar wood, black peppercorns and tobacco are there, but in a very subtle way. Super elegant. Drinking 2017-2027 95 points. Luis Gutierrez, The Wine Advocate
Very deep and primary fruit character in this red gives the wine amazing length and focus. It seems to go on forever. Full body yet vivid and energetic. Tannic and muscular yet so polished and finish. Drink now. But one for the cellar as well. 99 points, James Suckling
Deep, bright ruby color, 2015 Viñedo Chadwick reveals fresh red fruits in the entrance with soft notes of licorice and gooseberries, accompanied by some herbal tones reminiscent of peppermint, with nuances of cedar, cigar box and cloves. Full-bodied, the wine offers the same rich fresh fruit impressions in the palate accompanied by soft herbal notes, leather bean, tobacco, licorice and bitter chocolate. The mouth feel is elegant and round, with highly structured but finely polished tannins. Its tension and freshness help the wine age for a long time, the length is impressive, carrying the fine grained tannins and velvety sensation for a long time. Viñedo Chadwick will age gracefully providing a classic presentation of our estate’s terroir represented by its fine and elegant tannins, balance and purity. Francisco Baettig, Technical Director
