We are delighted to launch our 2016 Portfolio List in good time for autumn selections and Christmas drinking. The list is created with the next twelve months in mind and includes our favourites for each season.

This list represents all that we are proudest of at Goedhuis & Co. We love wine from all round the world, but our strength and reputation lies in the classics, in particular Bordeaux and Burgundy in France and Tuscany in Italy. However, we also seek the best of the noble varieties in exciting new regions outside Europe.
Long-standing clients will be familiar with many of the producers and estates on the list, which is testament to our buying policy. These growers have created their reputations through hard work in the vineyards, diligence in the winery and a thirst to make the most delicious drink in the world.
We are never complacent and constantly seek new discoveries for this list. The reputation of English Sparkling Wine goes from strength to strength and many great Champagne houses are sitting up and taking note. Two English estates now feature, old favourite Nyetimber and award-winning newcomer Gusbourne from Kent. At the other end of the world in the most southerly vineyards on earth, our two Central Otago estates in New Zealand, Akitu and Black Quail, exemplify the great heights Pinot Noir can reach beyond Burgundy.
Finally, particular thanks must go to Catherine Petrie, our MW in waiting, for the hours of work she has put into creating this stunning list. I hope you enjoy the notes, the photos, and most importantly of all, the wines.
