2024 Puligny Montrachet Jean-Marc Boillot
£295.00 In Bond £375.49 Inc VAT (£62.58 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025
Two hectares of village Puligny from a selection of 7 vineyard locations makes for a super representation of the commune’s wine. The nose is one of lively citrus, with aromas of blood orange and fresh pink grapefruit. At its core, there is a straight and direct line of minerality which is softened by sweet ripe peach fruitiness. The complexity of this wine far outweighs its village status.

I have already reported on JMB’s stunning 2024s in Wednesday Wines Edition 290 (link here), but back then, I didn’t know the prices. Now I can calculate that this wine will cost around £63, it is a standout in the more expensive reaches, without tipping over into the likes of 2024 1er Cru Les Referts (£425 IB per 6), which is another jaw-dropping wine. There is not much stock to go around, so get in NOW.

2024 Puligny Montrachet Louis Jadot
£330.00 In Bond £396.00 Inc VAT (£66.00 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025
Shimmering lemon and lime hue. Charming aromatics, with a honeyed scent of glazed pears. A graceful first impression, silky in nature, flowing across the palate. Flavours of panna cotta and subtle mandarin undertones. Gracious with a light lift of acidity on the finish.

Burghound, April 2026, Score: 89-91
Elegant, cool and airy aromas of subtle wood influence, acacia blossom, petrol and lemon zest give way to generous and solidly powerful middle weight flavors that are both sleeker and finer though nowhere near as powerful before terminating in a sappy and sneaky long finale. This is a big and robust Puligny villages though not an especially refined one - even so, much like the Morgeot, it actually is quite good despite not being especially typical. Outstanding, Drink 2030+

2024 Puligny Montrachet Jacques Carillon
£330.00 In Bond £417.49 Inc VAT (£69.58 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025
From 40-year-old vines, this a fresh, bright zesty Puligny, which comes from seven different lieux dits starting on the Meursault side, some in the middle of the village and the final plot close to Chassagne so a very complete example of the commune. A charming mandarin-scented nose. Honeyed and poised, with a glossy clarity. Refreshing and persistent. The perfect expression of village Puligny Montrachet.

Burghound, April 2026, Score: 90-92
(from 11 different parcels in 7 lieux-dits scattered about Puligny with an overall average vine age of approximately 40+ years) A discreet touch of reduction quickly lifts to reveal cool citrus, white flowers and a limpid, almost crystalline freshness. The palate impression of the middle weight flavors is notably pure while displaying a subtle minerality on the impressively long, chiseled and balanced finale. This quietly elegant effort is already appealing, though it should easily reward a few years of patience. Excellent quality here for its level and very much worth your interest. Drink 2030+

JMO, October 2025, Score: 89-91
As is usual, the village Puligny has not yet been fully assembled, so we tasted its component parts, now in their various tanks. The first tank is quite exotically perfumed, lime blossom too, fresh and with good acidity, with a softer charm to the fruit behind. The second shows a lime tint to the colour, less exotic fruit, fresh apples, a little more density. The third tank hasn’t fallen clear yet, so crisply reductive, before a pure orchard fruit behind. A little more substance overall. Good length here. The fourth also not quite clear., showing the most weight to the nose, and indeed body on the palate. Overall, this should be an attractive and even reasonably substantial Puligny, which will be accessible quite early. Drink from 2027-2030.
