Antonio Galloni, April 2018, Score: 91
The 2014 Redigaffi attractive if somewhat slender wine. Lavender, dried flowers, mint and sweet plum infuse this very pretty, refined edition of the flagship Redigaffi. The 2014 has fleshed out nicely over the last year, especially on the mid-palate and finish, where the wine was once much less fully formed. There is more than enough pedigree to support at least a handful of years of fine drinking.

Antonio Galloni, November 2016, Score: 89
The 2014 Redigaffi is a challenging wine. There is no way around it. There is good power and density at the outset, but the wine narrows considerably through the mid-palate and into the finish. Black cherry, tobacco, smoke, licorice and game are all pushed forward, but the 2014 doesn't have the sheer density and texture of the very best years. Today, I see a wine with only modest depth and complexity.

James Suckling, July 2016, Score: 95
Fantastic aromas of red pepper, chocolate, chili, and blueberry. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a beautiful length and balance. A triumph for a difficult vintage in 2014. And the 30th vintage of this great pure merlot made. I am not sure I would wait on this one. Too delicious now.
Region
Tuscany
Arguably the most celebrated of all Italian regions for its sun, delicious food and rich wines. Chianti lies at the heart of this centrally located, picturesque and expansive area. Tuscany is also home to Chianti's more powerful cousin, Brunello di Montalcino, illustrious Super Tuscanblends and spicy, exuberant whites.
