  • Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025

Taking its name from the Domio family, who were large landowners in the 16th century, the sandy clay soil and north easterly aspect of the vineyard, along with the Domaine’s 80-year-old vines, make this an ever more appealing Premier Cru. Very luscious red fruit on the fore but with a serious structure and a dark fruit edge with a bitter nut flavour. Driving freshness and hints of leather. Will develop perfectly with a few years in bottle.

Producer

Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot

Region

Savigny-lès-Beaune

The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
