Red Burgundy 2020 | Top Picks from the Côte de Nuits

Nestled between the warm vintages of 2018 and 2019 and the cool 2021 vintage, 2020 was generally an outstanding vintage in Burgundy, producing wines with great structure and concentration. The tannins are crunchy and ripe, with the most successful reds harvested early to retain freshness; it was in the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits that the best consistency of quality was found.

    This is aromatically quite similar to the Vaucrains with a bit less wood but more menthol character in evidence. The sleek, rich and highly energetic larger-scaled flavors possess a finer texture though the moderately austere and impressively persistent finish is a bit less powerful and notably less structured. With that said, this excellent effort is still quite firmly constituted. Drink 2032+

  • EP: En Primeur. These wines are lying in the Domaines’ cellars until shipping. They can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.
