A brief cheese stop in room one punctuated by some excellent Burgundy warmed one up for the majesty of room 2.
A giant stickered heart with veins bursting met you on arrival, but much more appealing were the array of principally white Burgundies.
Isabelle Pommier leaving Denis at home shared four wonderful vintages of Chablis 1er Cru Cote de Lechet, my favourite being the 2007.
Droin next door weightier but again so expressive of their region. Montee de Tonnerre 2005 lovely, wish I had tucked more away.
Domaine Paul Pillot: now these are LEGEND, proper Chassagne. The Chassagne 1er Cru La Romanee 2007 WOW – and continued to WOW next door at Manicomio for dinner.
St Aubin en Remilly Marc Colin 07 always a delight and so well priced – fill me up !
Michel Colin-Deleger – ample, ripe and hugely moreish Chassagnes and Vincent Prudhon with some beautiful early drinking St Aubins. The Rouges Gorges 07 was very pretty.
Happy faces all around and a wonderful event – I look forward to the next one and to furthering our relationship with this complex but oh so rewarding region.
