We are delighted to announce the availability of the new 2013 Barolos from Giacomo Fenocchio.
The Fenocchio family has been growing grapes in Bussia, Monforte since 1864 and owns some of the top ‘grand cru’ vineyards. These prestigious sites express the individual terroirs; Bussia in Monforte d’Alba has compact clay and limestone soils, and Villero in Castiglione Falletto has rich iron deposits.
2013 was a great vintage for Barolo; easily the region’s best performing vintage since the legendary 2010. It captures the haunting beauty Nebbiolo offers. Rich red fruit with violet and rose petal aromas wrapped up in ripe, sweet structured tannins. Antonio Galloni called it a year of “sublime Finesse and elegance” and the Wine Advocate vintage chart rates 2013 as “Outstanding”.
In 2013 there are a number of thrilling, utterly captivating wines that speak to the pedigree and class that are the signatures of the best Barolo vintages. Antonio Galloni
2013s have a comparable structure to the excellent 2010 vintage, but the 2013s are overall more refined and focused as well as more consistent in quality. James Suckling
Fenocchio’s 2013s are quintessential examples of this exceptional vintage. Well-crafted and hugely enjoyable, we get very excited when we find talent like this from a hallmark vintage at such tempting prices.

Rich concentrated fruit, dried rose, violets and cherry aromas float from the glass. This is a multi-layered wine, with intense flavours and a harmonious texture integrated with wonderful fine tannic structure. Drink 2019 – 2025+. Goedhuis & Co
