If you find yourself exploring the Côte de Beaune this year, there is a new address to pay a visit: Jefferson’s Club in Pommard. The building was once owned by the Duke of Burgundy and is now home to the Parent-Gros family’s head office, wine bar and shop.
Caroline Parent-Gros of Domaine AF Gros is the mind behind this, her idea was to create a personal and cosy space to welcome their visitors in which they can enjoy wines in a homely setting.
Caroline’s ancestor Etienne Parent was the wine advisor to American President Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson’s Club is named after this as a nod to their great relationship.
A charmingly lit 12th century chapel is your welcoming entrance. This space is dedicated to individual or group visits. You can book yourself in for a comprehensive tasting of Domaine AF Gros wines covering the glowing Côte d’Or.
The wine bar features two stylish rooms decorated with comfortable chairs and lovely pictures. Thanks to Eurocave’s innovative wine dispenser system you can sample a truly fresh glass of wine. The range is impressive and favours any tasters, even if you fancy a glass of grand cru, AF Gros Richebourg is poured for you here! If you desire a break from wine, there are plenty of other drinks to choose from the list. You can even refresh your palate with a groovy Jura Cola, an artisanal French “coke” made with natural extracts.
