I was lucky enough to be posted in the Billecart Salmon room which happens to be my favourite rosé champagne. I was joined by two Billecart agents Colin Palmer and James Thomas who were only too happy to share their knowledge and expertise with those who asked.
Billecart Salmon Rosé is a hugely popular champagne and rightly so. It’s a favourite of Robert Parker who describes it as one of his favourite Champagne houses “their non-vintage Rosé is a consistent winner. A delicate pink colour is accompanied by gorgeous sweet cherry, strawberry, and mineral-like scents, assertive medium-bodied flavours, a delicate, crisp personality, and surprising depth as well as persistence. A beautiful berry character in the finish adds to this impeccable rosé’s captivating style.”
It definitely proved to be a winner on the night and was one of the most popular rooms. Everybody I spoke to during the evening commented on what a fantastic champagne it is and how the delicate fruit and crisp finish really make it such a pleasure to drink. Alison Price provided the wonderful British strawberries which were a perfect accompaniment and really accentuated the summer atmosphere.
All in all a very enjoyable (and pink) evening for all.
