Following our Rhone Tasting in November we know that the Saatchi Gallery is the most brilliant location for a wine tasting – acres of space, light and airy and some thought-provoking art to break up the tasting. The current exhibition Unveiled: New Art from the Middle East is unsurprisingly attracting enormous attention. The Observer calls it “at its best…. inventive and truly fearless”, while the Sunday Times describes it as “a richly fascinating survey”.
More than thirty of the growers we work with are joining us for the evening, to present their wines to you. We will be showing over 100 wines. In addition to a cross-section of our entire Portfolio, we will be highlighting both Italian drinking wines and barrel samples of the newly released Barolo 2005 and Brunello 2004.
We will be launching Louis Roederer Brut Vintage 2003 and will also be showing vertical flights of:
Domaine de Chevalier Blanc & Rouge Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan
Chateau Langoa Barton 3ème Cru St Julien
Fratelli Cavallotto Barolo Bricco Boschis.
To fortify the flagging taster, a feast of hams, salamis, bread and cheeses will be on hand, matched to the wines being shown. Prosciutto and Parmesan are to be provided by Manicomio, a selection of cheeses from Burgundy and the Loire Valley are coming from Maitre Philippe Olivier in Boulogne. Upton Smokery in the Cotswolds will be showing their delicious smoked venison.
For the adventurous we will have a number of competitions – some based on skill and some based on luck – to win some very serious bottles.
Tickets are £25 per person or £40 for a pair. For additional information or to purchase tickets please contact Claire Griffiths on cg@goedhuis.com or 020 7793 7900.
