Monday was a very strong line up of top domaines, 7 in total so a very busy day.
Our first appointment was at Cathiard, these were gorgeous and the wines showed very well. There were the usual stars and great way to start the day.
We then headed to Hudelot Noellat and had a fabulous tasting with Charles van Canneyt. This is always such an impressive tasting with such a great range. Stand out wines were Vougeot 1er Cru Petit Vougeot and Clos de Vougeot but all good.
Then on to Domaine d’Eugenie, such small quanties but real quality. These were very seductive wines, with the Grands Echezeaux being delicious.
After lunch in a little restaurant in Chambolle Musigny we then tasted at Frederic Mugnier. A really fantastic range of wines. We started off will his beautiful Chambolle which was hugely impressive and the most amazing Chambolle Musigny Amoureuse.
From there we headed back to Gevrey Chambertin to taste the star-studded line-up of Domaine Rousseau. They were all absolutely fabulous; no wonder it has such a reputation.
Our final tasting of the day was at Domaine de l’Arlot followed by dinner where we cracked 2010 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forets, what a wine and day…
