Burgundy 2019 | En Primeur Practicalities

To start 2021 with a bang Burgundy is back, with an array of gorgeous whites and beautiful, classical reds, albeit in reduced quantities.

Here at Goedhuis & Co we ensured that, despite some not inconsiderable logistical challenges from Lockdown 2.0, both our buying team and entire sales team have tasted as many wines from the new vintage as in a “normal” year. The wines were a delight to taste and demand is sure to be high.

Our online brochure will be available on Thursday 7th January in the afternoon, and the campaign will launch on Tuesday 12th January.

DISCOVER THE WINES

We will not be sending out a physical brochure this year, although a pdf will be available online with our complete range of wines. We are delighted to be trialling extensive new online coverage which we hope will make selecting your wines easier than ever. You will be able to browse by domaine and appellation as well as reading not only all the Goedhuis & Co tasting notes, but also notes from all the leading Burgundy critics, as they are published. You can explore our coverage using the side menu, which will be regularly updated as new content is published.

PRE-RELEASES

We have already offered certain wines during December, which are available to buy online. These include our four brilliant Chablis producers: Droin, Billaud-Simon, Pinson and Pommier, and a resplendent range of village, Premiers and Grands Crus from Nicolas Potel at Maison Roche de Bellene.

AVAILABILITY, ALLOCATIONS & WISH LISTS

As previously mentioned, quantities are down across many, although not all, appellations. We are working with the domaines to pack as many wines as possible in six packs or even three bottle cases. This is intended to share the more sought-after wines as fairly as possible and also to allow clients to add as many different cuvées as possible to their cellars.

Allocated wines are offered first to regular previous buyers of those wines, secondly to loyal clients with an established buying record, and finally to new clients buying extensively across the vintage at all price points.

The sooner we have a wish list from you, the easier it will be to accommodate your requests. If you are happy to confirm a set budget in advance this will allow us to make appropriate recommendations and help secure sought after wines for your cellar.

If you have not bought Burgundy En Primeur from Goedhuis in the past, our team would be more than happy to hear from you on wine@goedhuis.com
